Climate change is real and is impacting on economies and lives in Africa, especially rural livelihoods. The effects of the climate change phenomena have drawn bitter debate between both the developed and developing countries. To address some of the concerns, the authors identified topics of relevance to Africa, among them: discourses surrounding the green economy and sustainable development; financing green economies; carbon benchmarking; role of multilateral development banks in carbon financing; and carbon taxation. The book mainstreams climate change into 'unfamiliar' territories, such as accounting, finance, management, education, economics and banking.
