Fransjohan Pretorius is a professor in History at the University of Pretoria and has written or edited eight books about the Anglo-Boer War. His book Life on Commando during the Anglo-Boer War 1899-1902 was the runner-up in the Sunday Times Alan Paton Award. He has also won numerous awards for his contributions about the Anglo-Boer War.
