Ignacio Lopez-Calvo is a professor of Latin American literature and chair of the Graduate Group of World Cultures at the University of California, Merced. He is the author of several previous books on Latin American and U.S. Latino literature and culture, including "Imaging the Chinese in Cuban Literature and Culture."
