Best-selling Turkish author Solmaz Kamuran resurrects a woman whom history recognises as an actual figure, and renders both her life and the Ottoman Empire at its peak with precision and passion.
Born in 1954, Istanbul, Kamuran graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Dentistry. Her first literal translations and interviews were published in a weekly magazine, 'Yansima', when she was 17. Throughout the years, she never lost her interest in and love for literature and couldn't work professionally until such time as she quit her career as a dentist and devoted herself to her writing. Kamuran was among the 20 writers who were invited by Sorbonne University in 2003 to a conference on Sephardic Jews and literature. www.solmazkamuran.com
