In 2004 a new edition of The Book of Common Prayer is introduced and becomes the legal prayer book of the Church of Ireland. In this booklet four members of the Church of Ireland Liturgical Advisory Committee describe the previous editions of a book first authorized for use in 1551: that first prayer book was also the first book printed in Ireland.
