The day Britain's young showjumping star and horse whisperer Tom West was seventeen was the day his life turned upside down when his very special girlfriend Samantha issued him with an ultimatum, for this was the day he was destined to ride the infamous and impossible horse Black Satin to satisfy the whim of his domineering owner Lady Hermione MacDonald. Sam was terrified the horse would kill Tom. "You have to give up Black Satin," she sobbed, "You can't have us both Tom. It was never going to be another girl that would come between, us it was always going to be a horse." Tom pleaded with Lady Hermione but she was adamant. "Black Satin can take you to the very top Tom, I am doing this for your own good and I repeat I shall remove all my horses from Lake House and the stables will be finished if you refuse. You will thank me one day before too long young man." And Tom had to watch, for as his heart broke, Sam turned and cantered away from him through the woods. With tears streaming down his face Tom turned to the black horse. "Help me Satin. Show Sammy she is wrong. Please one day may it be possible for Sammy and you both to be my Perfect Partners."
