Elisabeth Thompson was born in Crosby, Liverpool, but is now resident in West Sussex. She only found the time to write after a short career at the Foreign Office in London followed by various personal assistant posts in the north-west, after raising her five children, years spent as a foster carer and as a respite carer for children with special needs. The common theme in all her books is the nature of family relationships and the importance of close friends. Her own core friends are of very long-standing and important to her ... as is her husband and family. Her favourite quote is from Jane Austen - 'Let other pens dwell on guilt and misery.'
