This vintage book is Phyllis Bedells' autobiography, "My Dancing Days". Phyllis Bedells (1893-1985) was a famous English ballerina and ballet instructor. She began dancing at the London Empire Theatre in 1907 and became its first English prima ballerina in 1914. After leaving the Empire in 1916, she started performing on the West End and in operas in Covent Garden. Bedells was one of the founders of the Royal Academy of Dance and was instrumental in creating its first syllabus. This volume is highly recommended for those with an interest ballet and would make for a worthy addition to any bookshelf. Many vintage books such as this are increasingly scarce and expensive.
