Dr. Sven G. Froiland was Professor of Biology and Emeritus Director of the Center for Western Studies. Early in his career he served as a research associate with the Forest Service in the Black Hills. It was at this time that he became fascinated with the complexity of the Hills. Dr. Ronald R. Weedon was Professor of Biology and Director of the Chadron State College Herbarium.
