Dr. Al Gotch is a native of northeast Ohio with a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Purdue University, where he studied artificial photosynthesis after earning his B.A. in Chemistry from Thiel College. He taught college chemistry for 20 years at three different institutions, serving nine years as department chair, and mentored dozens of high school and college students through research in environmental chemistry, biomaterials, energy storage, and chemical catalysis. A published author of 12 peer-reviewed papers, he has given presentations on technology, chemical education, philosophy of science, and biblical worldview. He now works as a Lead Analyst and Production Manager at a specialty metal recycling company. Therefore I Think grew out of a series of letters Dr. Gotch wrote to his college-bound niece and nephew, distilling decades of biblical worldview thinking into short, engaging chapters for the next generation. He has been married to Karla for 40 years and has two married daughters and four grandchildren.
