Tom Avermaete is Associate Professor of Architecture at the TU Delft, Netherlands. His research concentrates on issues related to public space and public building, the architecture of the city and modernism in non-European contexts. Serhat Karakayali is a sociologist and assistant professor at the Institute for Sociology in Halle. His research focuses on migration, postcolonial studies and political theory. Marion von Osten is Professor at the Academy of Arts Vienna and the artistic director of the research and exhibition project "In the Desert of Modernity. Colonial Planning and After." As an artist, researcher and exhibition-maker, she focuses in her work on transdisciplinary methods and post-colonial critique.
