Through a rich and provocative mix of maracas, verse, meditations, chants, saxophones and other instruments, rainbow mewsik is fresh, in-your-face performance literature that constantly plays with how we create rainbows of meaning via everything to do with sound. In "rainbow mewsik" bill bissett has teamed up with Chris Meloche to develop musical and electronic treatments of several pieces. "4shadowing," for instance consists of only one word recorded directly onto the computer, then stretched and put through a process called granular synthesis, which allowed them to manipulate the tiniest aspects of sound in real time. Other pieces in the collection were recorded live, in real time, with no overdubbing or post-production work.
